There’s this belief that college isn’t needed anymore.
There’s pro’s and con’s – as with anything
- Its crazy expensive for most leaving them in a huge debt hole
- This sets them back financially which ripples in their everyday living
- Many don’t even use their degree
- There’s no guarantee to get a high paying job right out of college or that you’ll be ready for life
And there are definitely pros to college
- Having a degree provides a better chance at a higher paying job that could pay dividends down the line, provided that we know what we want.
- Community within the school
- Developing beneficial habits
So here’s a flip: why not just find an alternative? Build our own ‘college’ course
Maybe we could find cheaper classes, or build our own curriculum with cost in mind
Udemy has high rated courses that they sell for 10$ on occasion
There’s MBA’s for 50$ a month
It may be online, but consciously applying what we learn in our everyday life…
This strategy would require a little discipline, but may be worth it
The point? Always be learning
