57. There’s no right or wrong

Our driveways touch, with a small strip of grass going up the middle.

The driveways are long too, maybe one car wide but 4 cars long.

Driveway A has one car

Driveway B has two cars.

Driveway B has to leave. (her car is behind his car)

She decides to either

  1. Go into driveway A
  2. Move the car in front of her to the street
  3. Use the first car instead

But she picks – 1. go into driveway A – every time. (up to 8 times a day)

With all that said, it’s not really that big of a problem.

The problem is what’s the line?

Do you only go from driveway B to A if there’s a huge opening that it’s a no brainer your car can fit?

Is the line if your car can barely fit it’s still good to go?

Unspoken rules.

On top of that:

  •  this woman has backed into her driveway and smashed into a poll on her front lawn
  • had her whole car on driveway A’s front lawn multiple times
  • They have neighbors and friends going into driveway A after a night of drinking

So what’s the line?

Driveway B’s rule adopts the “if it fits it ships” model

Driveway A’s rule is only to go into the other person’s driveway if a worst case scenario situation happens and only if they are not home, mainly to show respect for the other person’s things.

There’s no right or wrong, just different.

and we can’t get emotional towards people if they don’t know what are rules are – for they do not know.
