403. Have I given my best this year? How can I improve?

Question two of twenty-eight.

This year in review: bought a duplex, ran a 50-mile race, spent the summer in Florida (tried to move there), became a fine dining server at the bluebell inn (high paying job), bought a single-family house, maxed out my retirement accounts, have a 24-hour race coming up…

Pretty great year for me, one of the best ones yet.

And I could say I really tried to make my goals come to a reality.

The “ONE thing” helped with this:

What’s the one thing I want to achieve someday?

  • To be on track for my someday goal, what can I achieve in 5 years?
  • To be on track for my 5 year goal, what can I achieve in 1 year?
  • To be on track for my 1 year goal, what can I achieve this month?
  • To be on track for my monthly goal, what can I achieve this week?
  • To be on track for my weekly goal, what can I achieve today?

I gave my best this year, on the grand scale

On the micro-scale though, I had fights with others, arguments – said things I didn’t mean or strayed from my path

And this is how I didn’t give my best this year

Because I could have taken the high road, bit my tongue, think before I acted, reacted differently

A dichotomy, but a great year overall. Looking forward to 2022.
