760. Fine Lines

We’re we ever interested in something and tried to push it onto people?

Sure.

When’s the last time we did that?

Because our interests aren’t necessarily other people’s interests.

Just because i’m interested in running doesn’t mean I push every bit of new Information I find out upon you, that’s selfish thinking.

“Hey this is the best running form”

“This gadget came out to test your stride, but people are saying it doesn’t work”

“This running watch is better than that watch”

“If you want to run faster go harder”

But this person doesn’t even run…

What are they thinking? How are they feeling?

See, they were polite enough to listen the first few times, we’re texting them videos, showing them the way – right?

Wrong.

This person starts to despise us.

We go up to tell them some more exciting news about running “yo I’m not interested they say”

And we feel hurt, how couldn’t they be interested?

Because what interest us doesn’t interest them.

What if instead of pushing our interest onto others, we could see what other people are interested in?

Maybe we can learn something new or gain a new hobby?

Let’s be real, people would rather talk about themselves than hear us talk about ourselves.

Why not play into that?
