785. Commit First

THEN figure it out

Are you stuck in life? Maybe you don’t know what’s next or are trying to figure it out ?

Can you relate?

Reflecting back, this was how I got into running.

I committed to running a marathon, how?

By running almost every day.

2 months before the marathon, I found out about training plans.

Race day came and it was a success.

I committed and then figured it out. It was a real commitment too, not just saying it.

Sometimes it doesn’t go that way though. I’ll commit to something, or so I say – and I try “to figure it out” way to early in the process

An example of this could be my real estate journey.

I found out about real estate in 2016, almost 7 years ago at the time of this writing.

It took a whole year to land the first real estate deal.

Looking back, I spent too much time trying to figure it out, and not committing first.

See, I started my running journey AFTER my real estate journey, and I feel like I’ve made more progress with my running journey than I did with my real estate journey.

Why?

I fully committed to one and not the other.

I spent too much time figuring it out and not enough doing it.

Have I been making progress with real estate? Yeah for sure.

The point is though, commit and THEN figure it out.
