Ultra’s have taught me so much
Patience, pain is temporary, we can get through and accomplish a lot more then we think we can
There’s a system to how things get accomplished, it takes a team, planning and executing, problem-solving
And there is so much variety
Different distances, terrain, areas, rules
Something new this year is trying a predetermined series of events
“Blacklist” is this series of ultra marathons
Hyner 50k in April
Worlds end 100k in June
Eastern states 100 mile in August
Black Forest 100k in October
It’ll be my first official series of events.
The past 4 months have been a hardcore training block (January to April) peaking out at 104 miles with 10,000 feet of elevation gain. 18 hours of running for the week.
And we’re just getting started with the first race – hyner – April 22, 2023.
I have the training under my belt (plus all the races and miles I’ve done since 2019). The plan now?
Race hard and recover harder for these next 8 months
It’s going to work because of all the planning I did before this – the miles, logistics, training – all of it.
Doing the work is always the most important part.
What work are you going after? Stay after it!
