What are your goals?
We need to know what we want. What do we want to do with running? Be the best? Run the furthest? Break personal records? To have fun?
But what we want has consequences.
Taking a trip for 3 months to climb Everest while the wife and kids stay home? Maybe the local marathon or 50 or 100 miler is more attainable to get that sense of adventure while still maintaining peace within our homes.
Running changes lives, and having a running goal each year is a way to have us stick with it and reap all the benefits.
Here have been some of my running goals for the past few years:
- 2019: marathon (first ever race)
- 2020: 50 miler
- 2021: 100 miler
- 2022: 200 miler
- 2023: black list series (50k, 100k, 100 miles, 100k)
I’ve raced at least once each year, and In some races, they were really just training runs for the main race.
PS: I really enjoyed the “double it” concept, it’s been extremely painful, rewarding, and thrilling. I found a 400 mile race but I am using this year to get my skills more fine-tuned and my body more prepped.
Thanks for tuning in !
I appreciate your attention, LMK anything!
Go get your miles, Peace!!!!
