925. How to get into running

For the first month or two, just lace up your shoes, get out the front door, and run.

The goal is to spend time on your feet, to get in the habit of carving out that time each day

It’s great to set a goal like “a mile a day” or “20 minutes” or run a certain route from your house.

And it doesn’t even have to be a run, you can walk the mile or the 20 minutes – whatever you can do.

Some days are going to be easy, especially in the beginning when you’re all amped up.

But what about when you’re tired? Or don’t have the time? Or it’s pouring rain outside, a blizzard, dead of summer?

Will you still be able to get this done? Because some days are going to be harder than others too.

Then once that habit is built up, you can start to incorporate different forms of running. Longer runs, speed work, zone training, etc.

it all starts with taking that one step today so get out there and get it done!
