Obesity, cancer, alhs timers, heart disease are rampant
Causing people to die prematurely
This isn’t normal
One of the best ways to prevent these things from happening is what our diet consists of.
See, you don’t go on a diet. How we eat is our diet.
Is your diet consisting of pop tarts, Pepsi, icecream, doughnuts, candy, McDonald’s?
Or is it salads, water, beans, vegetables, fruit, rice?
Yeah we’re all going to die, but if we can eat better to live longer not only that, but feel better right now…
Would you do it? Because it’s true, and how we eat has a direct correlation to it.
Something you can totally control.
Here are 7 tips:
- Why do you want to eat healthier – to lose weight? Feel better? Lower blood sugar? What’s the goal? Enforce this every day, every night
- Believe in yourself. Believe that given enough time, you can change anything. See in your mind’s eye the changes you want to make and soon enough it will become a reality.
- It’s a lifestyle. You might not see change right off the jump; you might plateau. Whatever it is, just have faith and trust in the process. Commit to getting after this healthy journey every day you’ll look back in 5 years and blow your own socks off. Long-term vision.
- Educate yourself. Who taught you how to eat? Probably family, look to other credible sources to change your perspective. Of course; you have to be willing to change. A great place to start is to watch fork over knives, game changers, and what the health. These docs showcase a plant-based diet, even if you don’t have a desire for that, you could still apply some of the principles. Never stop learning about healthy eating.
- Have a plan, change is hard and in the beginning, you need to set yourself up for success until this healthy thing becomes a habit. Prepare your food, and have a flow. Here is something that I do:
- Only eat fruit till noon and stop eating all food by 8 pm. So have any other food between noon and 8pm, every day. I consider fruit my breakfast, as much as I want. For lunch, I always start with a huge salad, and the dinner looks like rice and beans or potato mixes. Snacks are oatmeal and peanut butter. Syrup sweetens anything up.
- Eat whole, plant-based foods as often and as minimally processed as possible
- A gallon of water per day
- Don’t put the healthy eating habits off until next week or next year, start right now, this very second. You’ll make mistakes, and that’s okay – with time and experience we’ll get better.
- Have a support group, people you can turn to in times of confusion, struggle, or need. This doesn’t have to be your family or friends, it could be anyone. Gain perspectives and make your own calls.
