Ever set a goal?
Sometimes we hit the mark. Sometimes we miss it.
Best case? as we start to learn more and do better, we hit goals more and more and miss them less and less.
This isn’t new news, having our goals written down helps us know where we are going
And if we can break down our goals, even better:
- What do I want to accomplish some day?
- In 5 years?
- In 1 year?
- In one month?
- In one week?
- Today?
See, the end goal is where we are headed, all the other breakdowns are just one step closer to that someday goal…
It gives us action items, that brings us focus
So that we can focus all the way down to the present moment
And if the goal changes?
Well which part of the goal? Is it the end goal? The one year goal? The one month goal? Which is it?
Because most likely, only a small part of the goal has to change, not really the whole thing.
So we fix that part and keep it moving..
We don’t rebuild an entire house because the garbage disposal broke and we don’t need to do that for our goals either, just fix the part that’s broken and keep it moving….
Because success isn’t a straight line, we don’t take an elevator up to the 100th floor
*ding ding* you’ve made it to “success”
That’s not reality.
Its more like a trail, one that curves left right, up and down, back tracks, goes through mush and rapids, down cliffs, sometimes you can’t even see the trail, filled with wrong turns and dead ends
But over time, we figure it out.
we learn new things, meet mentors along the way, and we get closer and closer to that end goal
Whatever that is for us
What’s your end goal?
