Start with the end and break it down to what you gotta do now
These sayings are getting to the same point, having a goal, something to strive towards – there’s no guarantee that we’ll make it.
Eventually we will, if we never stop trying – is a nice belief anyway – but not having goals, not knowing where we want to go is a guarantee that we won’t make it
If we don’t have something to strive for, how do we know what to do in the day-to-day?
what to spend our time on? What to say yes or no to? How will we know if we’ve gotten off track or this close to our goal?
Okay, so goals may put pressure on us, but the alternative? Eventually, we drive ourselves into madness through directionlessness and so since we aren’t successful in hitting our goals, are we a failure?
Maybe, maybe not.
And the goals don’t have to be a million dollars, a happy loving family, or anything that society may press on us…
Goals can be to be the best version of ourselves, and figure out how to track that and see if we are getting better year over year
Goals can be to own a profitable business or get out of debt,
Goals are something that we can control, finding the love of your life may not be the best goal… but if we become the best version of ourselves? The love of our life could come.
