1046. The things that matter

What matters to us?

Is it the biggest house? Nicest car? Biggest family? Luxury? All of the above?

Is it self control? Confidence? Doing hard things?

It’s not about being cheap, it’s about the fact that we can choose what we value.

We can value prioritizing over overextending.

It doesn’t cost anything to have self discipline but it’s too expensive for some people

What do you love most in the world?

Figure that out and we can enjoy our lives, we can still be happy even if our careers turn or the market tanks or we lost a limb.

There’s always another side: the more we desire, the more we have to earn to reach those achievements, and sometimes the less we actually enjoy our lives – especially if those are material external things – we become less free in free nation.

How’s that for size?
