1054. four critical elements in delivering a speech

This is taken from Jesse Itzler’s free swim newsletter. It’s highly valuable, filled with golden nuggets.

  1. Start with an icebreaker: Connect with your audience immediately with something funny, interesting, or vulnerable. It doesn’t necessarily have to be related to your main topic.
  2. Tell the audience where they’re going: People want to know what to expect, so explain what you’ll discuss.
  3. Deliver on your promise: Talk about what you said you would talk about.
  4. Leave your audience with actionable takeaways: Make sure people can walk away with something tangible or thought-provoking.
