There’s this concept called first thought second thought; we can’t control our first thought but we can control the second thought because there’s a gap between each thought, even if only for a second, and we can choose what we want to do when we’re in limbo with that gap.
We’re going to make mistakes. It’s the mistake AFTER – that’s the avoidable one – and the one that usually causes the real trouble.
The first mistake – it happens, the second? Compounds it.
When the first mistake breaks our rhythm or raises emotions, we’re way more likely to make the second one.
It’s almost impossible to avoid making a mistake, right?
But avoiding the second mistake is a learnable skill, one worth pursing
