1064. Impulses

Ever see someone who’s gone insane?

Not the people who’ve been through a tragedy, but those who are seemingly sane – but their lives and choices they make are what’s causing the insanity.

Their lives are lived as a mountain one minute, and a valley the next.

These people are exhausting.

What if we could have a filter to clean out our impulses, to decipher between the good and the bad.

While we might not have an actual filter, there still is a filter – we just have to use it. That filter is our values. Justice, doing the right thing, etc.

Because impulses of all colors are going to come into our minds. How do we control them? How do we act on these impulses? That is part of the work we must do. Bringing ourself to heel. Thinking before we act.

Who’s in control?

What am I being guided by?
