1141. Post race blues

It’s been 5 days since I finished swammie shuffle 220 miler.

The body is healing faster and faster. Everyday I am getting better.

The mind? Maybe not as quick.

I still feel drag. Still feel tired. Not as focused. A little more down then I usually am.

“Post race blues”

That’s how life goes right? It can’t be all high all the time.

It ebbs and flows, highs and lows.

How do we handle the highs?

How do we handle the lows?

That’s what matters.

The experience, that’s just a cookie in our cookie jar. One that we can take out and devour whenever we need to.

It’s not to be on this electric high of life, it’s to be able to prove to ourselves that we can get through hard things

And just like the seasons , hard things come and go.

And come back again.

Handling the blues with poise and ease.

Focusing on what I can control: my actions.

Recovering and Mental rest are at the top of my list.

Take that with seriousness.
