1166. Setting up for success

People who don’t get boundaries become spoiled. “Left tit babies”

A dog who’s allowed to do whatever he wants, will do whatever he wants. Even if it doesn’t make sense.

An investor who goes off the latest trends, could be considered a gambler.

We must control our minds because we have the power to regulate it – so that we aren’t jerked around by short term impulses or things that happen outside of what we can control.

If someone put a leash on you and drug you down the street, would you like that?

No. No one would. Not even the dog.

But that’s what we do to ourselves each and everyday when we don’t regulate our minds impulses.

We can choose to train our minds, to make better habits or set up parameters and give ourselves a fighting shot against our lack of discipline or ignorance.

We can’t trust ourselves to act differently, how many times have we failed to do so? Setting those parameters up in the beginning; when we’re in the right state of mind – it’s aiding in that decision to do the thing we set out to do vs getting distracted or caught up in the little things.

Here are some tools to help make better habits:

  • Knowing what we want
  • The power list (5 things you’ll get done everyday)
  • Getting things done early

Any others?
