I have a race in 1.5 weeks.
Ultra marathon, 100 miles.
The training block is important. How many miles am I putting up each week?
Typically the miles bump up slowly , peak out a few weeks out, and then slowly start bumping down.
Runners have different strategies:
- When to peak
- How many miles to drop by
- When to start “resting”
- How fast should the miles be
Sometimes the differences are big, should I spend $475,000 on a house or something more modest at $220,000?
Sometimes the differences are small, should I run 30 miles this week or 35?
Knowing the differences between big and small might be worthwhile
And clear a lot of headspace too
