1191. Retrogrades

Mercury was just in retrograde

It’s when the planet seems to be spinning backwards.

It doesn’t actually spin backwards, but it’s an illusion. Mercury has a shorter orbit than Earth – 88 days vs 365 days – and it “”laps” the earth a few times per year and when this happens, it appears to be reversing course.

It’s like in a loop race, is this person lapping me or are they really in front of me?

It makes your head itch.

Does Mercury being in retrograde really affect us mortals on earth?

To some, yeah.

Foggy thinking, daydreaming, escapism, petty squabbles, misunderstandings, frustration, frazzled, annoyances, crankiness, emotional,

Retrograde of Mercury usually comes down to communication, thinking, planning, technology

Although this isn’t a bad thing, it gives us time to regroup, re-align, to ponder and focus on what really matters to us….

Embrace the chaos, let go of control

We only can control a few things in life: really how we perceive situations

Can we use this retrograde for us or let it consume us?

Move slowly and steadily, take your time, give yourself time, let go, handle the productive capability things like getting a car tuned up or bike, preparing emergency kits, renewing past commitments instead of creating new ones

Be weary of buying new cars or signing contracts, check emotions, and don’t shoot the messenger. Things are what they are, and always work out.

The long game always wins, so keep focusing on what you can do now to keep that momentum going.

Do more self care type stuff: sleep, relax, practice presence, mindfulness, double down on things that are important to you.

On the other hand, all this Mercury retrograde stuff could be nonsense and the problems that seem to be happening are just part of normal everyday life – Murphy’s law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong”. Humans look for patterns and reasons, and maybe there’s a coincidence that things happen during retrograde, maybe there isn’t

Regardless, it’s always good to slow down and smell the roses, to put first things first.

It’s so easy to get caught up in life that we forget to actually live life. Maybe we can use this time as a reminder to not forget those important little things that can be so easily overlooked.

After all, mercury retrograde happens a few times per year – sometimes we feel it, other times we don’t, and maybe most of the time it’s all in our heads.

It’s like the phenomenon that when someone asks if we are feeling sick (and we haven’t been) but we respond, “you know I do feel down today”

When the talks of retrograde are so high, it’s almost – or seems to be – impossible to ignore it

But it could be a hoax, a fake, a phony.

Regardless, remembering to do the little things is always important and let this serve as a reminder to do the little things.
