1212. Pitfalls of a Plan B

People don’t hesitate reaching out to others with thier opinions

And sometimes it’s masked behind the “we want what’s best for you” or “we love you” causes.

That ever happen to you? A friend or close one tell you about what you should do? Or to have a back up plan – something to fall back on – if things go south?

What about just being there for that person no matter what? Ask questions instead of giving opinions? That’s not the point of this riff though.

The point of this riff is, when you have a great back up plan, you end up settling for the back up plan. Plan A is no longer the most important thing.

“I’ll try my best” is the new motto vs “I will no matter what”

Then we face resistance with our plan A, and we start to sabotage our work. That back up plan is just waiting to spring into action.

Why push through curve? Why take the risk? Why blow it all when there’s a comfortable alternative instead?

Those that do break through, usually have nothing to lose – and it’s worth adding – that they never have a back up plan either.
