1250. Cultivating Ambition and Flexibility: Embracing Life Without a Step-by-Step Plan

Tell me what to do!

What advice could be given without any context?

We don’t know anything about this person or where they’re headed or doing.

It would be nice if someone could tell us exactly what to do to reach our goals, exactly what to do in every situation

We spend a good portion of our time figuring things out: studying for this, preparing for that, saving for retirement or a vacation

But remember what iron Mike said?

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face

Do we really need answers to everything? Or plan for every what if?

What if we knew we could adapt to anything, no matter what happens? The fact that we can change given the circumstance.

It’s not being passive and letting people run all over us, we’re not crying over spilled milk – not worrying about what we’re going to do with our life, but instead living life.

Instead of looking to be told what to do, we cultivate important skills like ambition, curiosity, independence, self confidence, the ability to problem solve effectively

We can be strong and flexible , just like the bamboo plant.

Being strategic vs solely tactical

Being taught vs being given
