There’s something about getting a good quality night of sleep that you can’t buy
It just doesn’t happen either, a lot goes into it, at least for me.
I don’t need the comfiest spot to sleep or the most luxurious sheets
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day (be hydrated going to bed)
- Stretch even just for a few minutes
- Journal or meditate – some sort of brain dumping to calm the mind.
- Read some pages in a good book
- Go to the bathroom before going to sleep so you don’t wake up in the middle of the night
- Hopefully nothing wakes you up
Some things we can control, like the steps leading up to our slumber, and some things we can’t – the train blowing its horn at 3 am.
But when do we get that good night of sleep? Cherish it. Hopefully we get a good night sleep every night, but what if we fall out of a habit leading up to bed?
We drink some alcohol, go to bed a little dehydrated, wake up even more dehydrated and even if we aren’t hung over, we have some brain fog throughout the morning.
We don’t stretch at all, ever, and wake up with low back pain
Our mind’s racing from the news or unsettled trauma or whatever it is….
And that happens for weeks, months, years at a time?
It adds up (or subtracts out?)
Paying attention to little things and details, living life with intent, fully
Maybe it all starts with the good quality of sleep?
Got off work early last night, someone left a half bottle of Papion (we sell it for $160) this may be my favorite wine to date.
Enjoyed a glass of wine, a modelo, and some quality time with mi amor.
The serving industry is such a wild industry, it seems to fit my lifestyle perfectly.
Keep on stepping
