Crossed the finish line of my first official half marathon today at Mercer County! It’s just nice to finish a race without feeling like I got hit by a mac truck😭
Thanks to Vanessa and Beast Coast for always organizing top-notch experiences💯
Shin is back from its hiatus and nabbed a few PR’s today, good ass effort😤
Course had some rolling hills, not climbs but just enough to make it feel like you’re working with an increased heart rate.
Paced myself well on the ups and hit the downhills hard.
Maybe I could’ve went a little harder on the ups, and a little harder on the downs. I just feel like I had some left in the tank but overall happy with this effort, especially signing up with such short notice (2 day heads up) and no real speed work since coming back from this shin injury.
Slammed a gu at mile 3, 6, & 10. They hit the stomach way too hard when I’m pushing it like this. Put down two cups of gaterade at each aid station. I carried an 18oz handheld with 2 scoops of tailwind that was empty by the time I finished.
