1338. Chattanooga & Helene Travel Diaries

Hurricane Helene rained all night, pretty heavy. Thank the Lord we are in a hotel room. Camping is fun when it’s fun, and not when it’s not.

We got rained out and we’re stuck under our 10×10 canopy for the day. We would’ve been stuck in the car for Helene, a miserable time at best

I can’t sleep, not because of the weather maybe it’s sleeping in a new bed, a draining travel day, or anything else

Who knows, who cares

Sleep will come today

Some yoga, mediation, and a shower, occupied the early morning hours.

7 o’clock rolled around and I made my way down to the contention breakfast they serve here.

A cup of juice, coffee to go

I grabbed champy two pancakes and an egg.

They egg was off a egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, the rest got tossed

After some quality time a resistance band work out was on the agenda featuring the door jam. I love when I can use workout equipment on the road, and although it’s not my favorite workout, it does the job well.

After the workout, what were we going to do today?

Helene was letting up early afternoon, let’s go explore Chattanooga.

  • A run on the river walk
  • A driving tour of the city , seeing art, architecture, Ironman Chattanooga expo
  • Trail town coffee shop for a chai latte with oat milk and a sticker
  • A sculpture tour

The people here are nice.

We got back to the room around 2 pm to eat some lunch and get some things done.

  • Some reflections for the year
  • Planning for next year
  • Writing
  • Planning for tomorrow

This room doesn’t have a kitchen but we make do with our camp stove under the exhaust fan.

  • Sweet potato’s
  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Pico
  • Guacamole
  • Sauerkraut
  • And some tortillas

Life is simple.

Life is good
