We woke up and planned to have a chill day,
Travel burn out is real and we’ve been teetering that line. This trip has been our favorite trip ever; it’s been a little more than a month and it’s felt like a lifetime.
Appreciating these moments.
We started off with a coffee to go and a family walk around loft mountain.
Got some movement in
Slung the hammock between two trees, stretching it alot further then I remembered
I go for a run “no trails”
And that gets thrown out the window .5 miles into the run, I’ll hit discovery trail and then stay on the road
And that gets thrown out the window when I get onto the road and see Patterson trail
Something about just going with the flow
And so Patterson gets ran, a strenuous run with some good rolled ankles.
Night comes fast; and a short, heavy storm follows.
I love the sound of the rain hitting the car.
We start the morning off with some family miles and coffee
The dehydrated meal packs start to get to me.
A light run follows, I need to start resting for a race coming up next week.
We get the car squared up within 5 minutes and are on the road: showering, doing some much needed laundry, and exploring skyline drive, with its inspiring vistas and overlooks.

A few hours pass and we make our way back to loft mountain. We grab some local beers: big meadows IPA and head back to the honeymoon suite.
Sipping on some beers, we get packed up and ready to leave for tomorrow which only takes a few minutes. Breaking down the canopy and throwing it on top of the car (hopefully throwing it out soon)
We talk about the race coming up, finances, goals, dreams, the universe, look up at the stars
We realize we used to spend so much time in the woods as kids, warming up by the fire and getting hammered
Besides the hammered part, not much as changed.
We lite the citronella candle to make for a less hassle fire, wash up, and soon fall asleep
Blessing the spot one last time.
We lay there wondering how we got here, appreciating the moment, not wanting the trip to end
But all good things come to an end, and that’s okay
Keep on living✌🏽
