Shenandoah is getting cold.
I look over at Corie who has her winter jacket on. Champy is as cuddled as he can be.
Get washed up, and back into the car for warmth. I let the next 45 minutes pass by reading and meditating.
Champy gets fed, a mix of chickpeas and oatmeal with peanut butter
Coffee gets made
And we go on a family walk to get warmed up. This really does help.
We get back to the car, slowly get ready to leave and then get some food cooked before we head out. I decided to have the unforgiving three bean chili and it doesn’t disappoint.
We head towards the camp store to get some last minute gifts.
The plan is to head to blackwater state park, for some reason this doesn’t feel right.
Would we still go there if we had a reservation? The answer was totally no, we just felt like we had to go there.
We don’t have to do anything, we’re within reach of the house and after some back and fourth thinking of different options, we decided that Shenandoah was such a high, it was a great way to end it, especially after how are last night there went.
And so with that, we start to make the 5 hour drive back home.
We stopped at subway, for some veggie hoagies and the bathroom, got some gas, to let champy explore.
Stopped at another café with artsy vibes.
Something about the way people were driving, Champy was whining, it seems like people are on edge. Why?
It started to get to me too, a little bit of travel burnout.
Letting go, releasing.
We make it home after a 7.5 hour trip, just as night is falling.
Our energy is on the up. Beers get cracked and we start to declutter out the home.
Toss this, toss that, don’t need that, and three full trash bags later; we’re done.
Another great ending to the night.
