1345. Appreciating space

It was our first day back home.

How special is this place?

A place where we have our own space, one that was once just a couple of empty rooms and we’ve put our touches, made memories, laughs, cried

This place is special.

We wake up in the morning feeling this massive appreciation for borbi. Not having to run a quarter mile to the bathroom and share it with a hundred other people.

Not having to wait until the sun warms things up or dealing with bugs when we’re trying to sleep.

That’s one of the reasons we love to travel simply, it puts things back into perspective.

We wake up and have a nice cup of road Coffee, pretty much a hot brew with the coffee grounds in a tea bag. We talk about getting a coffee maker and write that on our list.

We go for a family walk and although we’re back home, we plan to keep that mini r lifestyle going.

It’s funny, we airbnb our place out when we do extended travel so we’ve been saying “we’re staying at an airbnb”

We head to the gym and go for a light workout, although we both think we went a little too hard. C doing max calisthenics and me doing some good weight.

Then we go food shop, having a fridge is WAYYYYY different then the cooler and this is another thing we appreciate. We fill the fridge with herbs, veggies, kombucha, pelli, fruit.

I’m itching for some sort of detox after this trip. The good to go packets work wonders but there’s something about fresh solid food. My diet on the road is a little different than my diet at home, although they both fall on the healthy side of things.

It’s also dope the fact that we didn’t lose much weight. Last 6 month trip we lost almost 20 pounds each; this trip we’re both down about 5 pounds or so.

“Race weight”

We come home, get the car squared up with laundry and what not.

It was nice too, all of our clothes were cleaned before we got home. We unpack our bags, or really thin our bags out and just pack them up again for the race this weekend.

We do the same with our road pantry and are pretty much ready for race day., 80%. We just need to get food and pack the car.

Another family walk that leads into some personal time

And then we start making moves on this 1,000 piece puzzle, an ode to our travel selves.
