Being home is way different than being on the road.
- Having your own space
- Not setting up and breaking down
- An area to do things
And that’s the point of the road, to get out of habits, figure things out, clear your mind, learn new things, it helps being immersed in the moment.
Waking up is much more pleasant. getting used to being home and it’s only been 2 days.
I’m craving my savers routine:
- Silence
- Affirmations
- Visualization
- Exercise
- Read
- Scribe
Mainly the morning yoga flow; it’s been tough for me to get into a yoga flow on the road, maybe it’s because I don’t have a set yoga mat for the road. We sleep on yoga mats but it’s not like I can just take that out the car. (Note: get travel yoga mat)
I spend some time closing out the year with Jesse Itzlers BYLR course that we got a few years back and it’s been a mindful yearly exercise.
What would you do with $10,000,000? My answer changes every year.
The biggest thing I’d do is put $9,000,000 into the stock market and live off the other million. I’d live the life of my dreams: traveling around, racing, and blogging.
I’d use the other million to buy needed gear, tattoo’s, and take the family out to dinner, matching the bill for the tip. I’d max out my Roth and a few Roth’s of other people, especially those who are young.
Little C is up, and I get him squared up. It’s nice having our route, routine. I love letting him off the leash about 50 feet from our backyard and seeing him hall ass down the walkway outback, do a 180 degree turn and watch me walk down the path, the biggest smile on his face, with his food bowl in my hand.
Dogs really are something special. The bond, the love, the lessons, all of it.
But why do we crave routine?
Maybe it’s because we feel safe or comfortable, we know. Maybe it’s for the better, we can get more done, live more simply. The other side of the coin is that it’s a rut, we’re stuck.
That’s one of the reasons I love going on the road. Routines die out, and when we get back, the good ones stick. The bad ones hopefully fall by the wayside.
I get my run in (a light run becuase of the race this weekend) I get a workout in, light.
Then there’s a knock on the door, its antman running some mail up for me.
- An award for coming in first place age group for the half marathon I ran before we left
- $225 check (bangin!)
We shoot the shit for a few minutes.
C is out walking c, and when she gets back she overheard that A was going to link up with Sha
She looks at me “let’s go with if your down”
Ahh fuck it, let’s go – and off we went to go spend a few hours with the family. We stop at the Sha’s, say what’s up to Benny, hit the post office, farmers market, and the Andonio’s for some lunch.
Lots of laughs were shared. It was nice catching up with them.
Sometimes going with the flow is the best way, maybe the only way to live? Yeah getting things done and planning but things come up and often, it’s for the better.
We get home, square the boy, meal prep some food:
- Tomatoes for salsa
- Rice
- Sweet potato’s
- Corn on the cob
Have a feast, close out our day, and do some puzzling
The puzzle is coming along nicely with this free time. We’ve never done a puzzle and I can feel my brain working. I enjoy using this as a past time for those night hours.

It’s funny, we say we have our next road trip planned out – hitting these national parks with a few state parks along the way.
Keep on living✌🏽
