We’re addicted to complexity. We pile on features, add steps, create intricate processes—all to feel important, smart, or in control.

More. mOre. moRe. morE.

But complexity is a tax. A silent drain on energy, creativity, and results.

Think about successful products, ideas, relationships. They’re elegantly simple. Apple didn’t win by adding more buttons. They won by removing them. Spotify didn’t complicate music discovery—they simplified it.

Why do we overcomplicate? Fear. Fear of being seen as basic. Fear of missing something. Fear of saying “this is enough.”

Ask yourself: What’s the simplest version that works? Not the most impressive. Not the most complex. The simplest.

Complexity could be seen as being lazy because the alternative (that takes work) is simplicity/
