1508. Some good notes from newsletters

“For all the youngsters out there, please .. let this be the time that it finally hits. Whether you’re 23, 28, 30, 35.. you’re young as f*ck. I’ll be turning 50 years old this year.. 50!! And if you knew the happiness, the light, the energy I feel inside to keep building, you’d be astonished. I’ve still got so many years to play.. so what does that mean for you?

Enough with the fear of failure, enough dwelling on the past, enough playing it safe to make mom and dad happy.. now is the time to go massively-risk oriented and double and triple down on everything you’re interested in. Get out there and taste sh*t… taste, taste, taste. Some of it will stick, some of it will suck. That’s okay.. because at least you’ll know.

My friends, I implore you. Watch this video as many times as you need to for it to sink in

I believe in you.. now go believe in yourself ❤️”

Gary vee , thanks

To this, If you’re 37… Instead of regretting that you can’t wake up age 18 again, pretend to yourself that you’re 90 and you’ve woken up age 37, and that you get to magically, wonderfully have the next 50 years again. Imagine that?

Work ethic vs discipline

A solid work ethic drives someone to show up, even when they’d rather not. If there’s work on their desk, they’ll take it on.

Discipline, on the other hand, is the ability to say ‘no’ to free up focus and resources for the work that’s worth saying ‘yes’ to.”

Thanks, Seth

To this, there’s a difference and it’s important to know what that difference is.

“Focus on the things you are for, not the things you are against.

Many people spend large chunks of their day thinking about what they hate. They are always telling you about something they dislike: this food, that subject, this political party, that coworker.

You are more than your frustrations. Build your identity around what you love.”

-James Clear

And to this, being mindful of where our attention is going and what we constantly think about and do is worth its weight in gold. Better yet, worth its weight in gold palladium , one of the most expensive metals out there.

  1. Thank you for this…. I’m in my 20’s and I feel as if I’m a failure in some ways and I’m not working enough… But to read this, really implore me to enjoy life… Thanks
