This is my longest training run for this 26 week training block.
Going for 35-40 miles today with another 10-15 miles tomorrow for 50 miles total between the two days.
Here are some notes:
Use this long run as race day simulation.
– calories
– Fluids
– Salt
– Aid station transitions
I’ll be doing (per hour):
– 1 L of water
– 200 calories
– 800 sodium
For aid station transition remember the 4 S’s:
– Sit down
– Sip electrolytes
– Set up for next set of miles
– Stretch / roll out muscles
And just do this over and over again until we get to our mileage goal.
Take my time. Stay focused. Focus on form and breath and catch things/ issues early.
