1593. What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

So what are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

(that’s a thing right?)

“Any Movement.”

Movement in general is one of the best ways we can live a healthy life.

BUT, What’s movement?

Simply moving the body.

It doesn’t have to be working out with weights or doing this many reps for this many sets

Movement comes in many different ways,

Yoga, weights, calisthenics, locomotion, running, jogging, biking, sports, physical therapy, walking

And so many more.

It’s important to bring up the fact that living a healthy life…

It’s more than just physical exercise and activities. They’re only a small part of what it takes to live a healthy life. (healthy eating, stress management, etc).

Living a healthy life has a physical aspect yeah, but also a mental, emotional, and spiritual aspect too.

I like to break physical movement down into 4 different categories

  • Cardio
  • Flexibility
  • Mobility
  • Strength

I try to touch on each of these areas on a consistent basis, and here’s how I’m currently doing that:

  • cardio for about an hour Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. (4 hours per week)
  • Strength for about an hour Monday, Wednesday, Friday (3 hours per week)
  • Flexibility and mobility for about 30 minutes total (15 in the am, 15 in the pm) (3.5 hours per week)

That puts me at 10.5 hours for the week at least

Some of my favorite forms of exercises:

  • running, biking, walking
  • yoga, deep squats, hangs
  • calisthenics and functional movements

It’s more important to carve out the time each day, to build the habit up, then it is about what we do

we can learn everything we need to know, but if we don’t ever do something it won’t ever benefit us

Knowledge is only potential power, it’s totally what we do with what we know

and that’s the first, most important step,

MAKE THE TIME.

Your future self will thank you.
