19. High Road

A Lot of times we may fall into the eye for an eye trap…

You bailed on me so I can bail on you now…

You didn’t answer me so I don’t have to answer you now..

You didn’t communicate anything to me so why would I to you…

Some people don’t even know the game they’re playing or that this this whole eye for an eye thing is a trap,

A deadly one too..

Because if all we’re trying to do is get even with the other person, how can we win?

It becomes a game of back and forth until an explosion of some sort happens.

Instead what If we took the high road?.

It’s okay if you bailed on me I’m still here…

I know you didn’t answer me last time I reached out but I’ll reach out again…

I know you don’t communicate so I’ll ask questions and set specific times with you…

(these conversations would be the internal dialogue, imagine if we’re trying to take the high road with someone and blaming them out the get go, may not end well)

It’s not about being right or wrong, or living in an ideal world or not

It’s about taking the stress off of ourselves, about always taking the high road so we don’t spend time regretting significantly small unimportant trivial matters

And if the high road isn’t the road worth taking within a specific relationship,

Is that relationship really worth it?
