309. Diseases don’t “run in the family”

Being healthy and fit is a noble goal, one worth striving for.

Ever see someone who’s sick or dying? They’re only goal in life is to live, to be healthy.

Diseases don’t “run in the family” – our eating and movement habits do and that’s why the family experiences similar issues.

Here’s the reality of living that healthy lifestyle:

  • Some days are easier than others. You’re not always going to want to workout or eat healthy. Look at these as test days. If we pass the test, we get SO much better. (and pretty soon, your habits take over and you won’t even break a sweat)
  • You will screw up, understand this. It’s about how fast we can get back up, dust ourselves off, and get back on track. At first, it may be frequent, but as time passes – that gap of getting knocked down will get wider and your health and fitness habits stronger.
  • Being healthy and fit, it’s not once in a while, it’s a little bit every day.

Ever hear this credo?

“When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”

One massive healthy meal and one massive sit up won’t give us a six pack

But a bunch of healthy meals and a bunch of sit ups done consistently each day will.

Nothing left but to commit to this.
