507. As we understand it

No one does wrong willingly 

We don’t do wrong on purpose 

And we don’t think we’re wrong – or else we wouldn’t do it! 

Could it be that the issues we’ve experienced, or the harm we’ve put to others or they put to us, was not done intentionally? 

What if we thought we were doing the right thing? 

Just like the confederate soldiers at Arlington – they served in simple obedience to duty as they understood it

How much more tolerant and understanding could we be today if we saw other peoples actions as attempts to do the right thing? 

We don’t have to agree with them either , but how would this shift our perspectives?
