Just because we feel a certain way – doesn’t mean anything
“I’m pissed so you should stop doing that”
…?
How ridiculous does that sound?
It’s easy to point. It’s hard to take a breath and ask ourselves questions
Why am I pissed? (usually, an expectation wasn’t met)
Did I communicate clearly? (probably not)
Is being pissed going to help the situation? (definitely not)
So how can I help improve the situation? (by not being pissed)
That’s easier said than done (yeah, but with practice, you can do it. See being pissed has been a practice that you’ve gotten good at over the years – being not pissed is the almost the same thing, except you’re not pissed)
It’s not fun questioning emotions
And the reality is, emotions are our problem – no one else’
So let’s be responsible and reign these negative emotions in, they’re not helping anyone.
And we’re not looking to immobilize or silence our emotions
Where looking to take the negative emotions – and instead of spewing them out all over people- and transform them feelings into action – whatever action is necessary at the moment
