Rules are set to be followed
So that society, an organization, whatever has something to measure against
You break the rule or you didn’t
Sounds simple
But there’s gray areas…
they kind of broke the rule, they didn’t know, whatever
What are the consequences though of rule breaking?
That implies we have to get caught breaking the rules
And that’s the kicker, what if we don’t get caught breaking the rules
Did the tree make a noise in the forest if no one is around to hear it?
Who knows, who cares
But “I didn’t know” (ignorance) isn’t an excuse
