How do financial advisors get paid?
We pay them. Either a flat fee or by earning commissions
Commissions for what?
For doing a job. Selling a stock, buying a stock never mind if it goes up or down…
The point of this is to bring awareness to the fact: do we know how the money in our 401k is doing? What fees are we paying? Are the fees necessary?
Besides that, if we have an advisor…
we’re automatically trying to beat the market – that’s a losing game
Why not just collect the average of the market and buy low-cost index funds like the OG Warren Buffet says?
Because it’s not sexy
But sexy doesn’t always work
