1200. Things always work out

Maybe not right when we want them to, but eventually, all things work out.

The dictator gets overtaken,

We find the job of our dreams

A law gets abolished

The forest has restored itself

We get to financial independence

Things just take time.

And all time is relative

Sex can seem to move by too quickly while 10 minutes in a boring classroom feels like 10 hours

The earth has been around for 4.5 billion years

That’s 1,642,500,000,000 days – holy shit right?

A year is only 365 days.

Compared to the lifetime of earth, a year is nothing.

Compared to a still-wet-behind-the-ears-teenager, a year is devastating, “I have to wait a year to drive? That’s going to take forever”

It’s all relative.

The big present under the tree? (maybe it’s a ferrari right? It could be an empty box – a gag)

The smallest present under the tree (maybe it’s the Koh-l-noor diamond or it could be a box of toothpicks)

What would you go for?

Things may not work out right this second, or this week, month, or year

But eventually? All things work out.

And by controlling what we can: reflecting, thinking, pondering, making decisions, giving our best, it can help speed that process up

Maybe it only takes a year, maybe it takes seven – who cares as long as we are making progress to our desired goal right?

Enjoying the journey, trusting the process – the process that all things work themselves out

And if we eventually die?

Well death is a part of life, and today is a good day to die just like any other day

Each day that passes by is a gift, and what we do with that gift – with our time here on earth – it’s up to us to make the most out of it.

On our deathbed, do we want to be thinking “I wish I would’ve done more with my life” or “shit, i really left it all out there and I am proud of my effort”

Two realities that we can learn from, that we can consciously choose for ourselves if we wish too.

Knowing what we want is a good place to start, beginning with the end in mind as Stephen Covey calls it.

So what do we want our life to look like? The former or the latter?

We can decide that, it doesn’t go without work though, and if we want something big, it’s going to take big thinking, big actions – us getting uncomfortable.

On the other hand, it’s easy to just survive.

Is it worth the price? Most people say yeah, there’s only one way to find out though

(to do it)
