1262. Vegan Chocolate Sauce and Stonecutters: Persistence Pays Off

we make this vegan chocolate sauce

  • cacao powder
  • peanutbutter
  • syrup
  • some water and salt

and then mix the ingredients together

At first, it doesn’t look like much is happening…

It doesn’t even really look edible. The powder doesn’t really seem to get mixed in right away

but eventually, all the ingredients combine together and form this amazing chocolate sauce

It’s just like the stone cutter, who hits the stone 1,000 times to chisel this one piece out…

The 1,000 hits didn’t knock it loose, but the accumulation of the thousand hits did.

It’s about not losing faith

because if you’re putting in the work, the results will come – it’s only a matter of time

Don’t lose faith.

  1. I first heard the story of the stone cutter about 30 years ago. It was actually a short film. A crazy old man tapping away atop a giant bolder. His adult daughter watching from the house, thinking he had lost his mind. I had no idea what was going on. How satisfying it was when the whole thing crumbled into pebbles.
