Here we are, standing at the threshold of another year. And damn, what a ride it’s been.
The Rear-View Mirror: More Than Just Memories
You know what’s wild? Every L you took this year was actually a masterclass in disguise. Those moments when you felt like you were taking an L? That was just life saying “Hold up, I got something better for you.”
Think about it:
- Those projects that went sideways? They taught you more about what works than any success story could.
- The relationships that evolved or ended? They showed you exactly who you are when things get real.
- Those goals you didn’t quite hit? They weren’t failures – they were data points, showing you what needs tweaking.
Remember, there ain’t such things as failures, only feedback. If you fall short, do shit differently until you get there.
The Minimum Effective Dose of Change
Here’s where we flip the script.
Instead of making those same old resolutions that feel like you’re trying to become a completely different person overnight, let’s talk about the smallest changes that create the biggest ripples.
What’s the one habit that, if you changed it, would make everything else easier? I’m talking about that keystone habit – maybe it’s waking up 30 minutes earlier, maybe it’s writing down three ideas every morning, maybe it’s just drinking water before you reach for that phone, or nixing your alcohol intake.
Your Action Protocol for 2025
- The Daily Five
- Spend 5 minutes each night planning for tomorrow, mainly identifying your One Critical Task
- Block out 2 hours for deep work on that task
- Connect with one person who moves your mind or spirit
- Document one win, no matter how small
- Review what you learned (the real stuff, not the stuff you think you should have learned)
- The Weekly Reset
- Sunday evening: Plan your Big Three for the week
- Review last week’s data points (what worked, what didn’t, what can you do better this week)
- Adjust your system, not your goals
The Truth About Your Platform
You’re not building a personal brand – you’re building a legacy of real impact. Every person you help, every problem you solve, every bit of value you create – that’s your platform – who you are as a person. That’s your microphone.
Keep It a Buck
At the end of the day, we’re all just trying to figure this thing out. The magic happens when we stop trying to be something we’re not and start amplifying who we already are.
So here’s to you – not the you that you think you should be, but the you that’s reading this right now. You’ve got everything you need. The game is yours to play, just don’t stop playing the game and eventually, you’ll hit the goals you set for yourself.
Remember: The world doesn’t need another somebody else. It needs the authentic, unfiltered, straight-no-chaser version of you.
Let’s make some noise in 2025.
P.S. Three questions to hold onto:
- What’s the smallest change that would make the biggest difference?
- Who do you need to become to achieve what you want?
- What are you willing to let go of to get where you’re going?
